Project Manager

The Project Manager position is responsible for exercising a wide range of disciplines in order to manage the production of a project. The Project Manager role is to develop the scope of work for new projects, establish and maintain project plans (including budget and timeline) and manage the resources to complete all client deliverables. Reporting to the Director of Client Services, the Project Manager will lead a team of strategists, information architects, software engineers, graphic artists, media producers, writers, web developers and programmers to design, produce and deploy quality technical software solutions for our clients.

The Project Manger will also work with outside vendors, services, contractors and freelancers as necessary to complete projects. It is also the responsibility of the Project Manager to be proactive in communicating with the team their responsibilities, deadlines for deliverables and to report progress on projects to the client and PI management.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties/Major Responsibilities

  • Represent PI in a professional and ethical manner and possess a strong conviction to customer service and satisfaction for themselves and PI
  • Assist the lead Sales Representative by meeting with clients to determine their needs as it applies to their business objectives and the wants of the target audience
  • Facilitate discussions with key staff to take clients' visions for their system/software initiatives and scope appropriate solutions that best fit their needs given any project constraints including time, budget and quality
  • Develop and maintain timelines and budgets for each part of a project and validate each resources ability and availability with the Director of Client Services
  • Assign team members with their list of tasks and due dates and send any updates to the project plan to all team members
  • Schedule regular internal project meetings where key activities are discussed, deliverables are reviewed and issues are resolved
  • Facilitate client meetings by sending out agendas and soliciting input from other team members prior to the meeting itself; encourage team members to actively participate in discussions with clients
  • Create the project requirements and scope of work documents as needed for each project
  • Proactively manage the day-to-day activities of projects by reviewing team member tasks and deliverables as well as communicating responsibilities and deadlines
  • Contribute and participate in all company meetings and work relations with a strong team spirit and respect for coworkers
  • Stay current on Microsoft and Internet technologies as they apply to the ongoing needs of our customers and the solutions that PI offers
  • Possess a strong belief in doing what's right for the customer and display the ability to adapt to the fluctuating needs of various projects
  • Be viewed as a positive influence and mentor junior members of the PI team and display the ability to learn new concepts
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Client Services

Other Duties and Responsibilities

  • Must be able to coordinate and participate in Research and Development of new development tools and third party solutions needed by our clients
  • Must work with other team members to develop client oriented solutions in a structured and organized manner
  • Assist the Director of Client Services in defining the process of Web site development and documentation

Supervisory Skills

  • This position has no direct reports. The Project Manager, however, directs the efforts of the team for each project. Leadership skills are critical in motivating and facilitating teamwork
Qualifications

Experience

  • 3 years as a Project Manager developing Web sites or other software applications
  • 5 years in the Internet or computer related industry

Education and/or Formal Training

  • Trade school or 4-year College degree (BS/BA)
  • Degree desired within a related field such as computer software engineering, multimedia development, business management or communications

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Capabilities and limitations of various browsers and user operating systems as it applies to Web site development
  • Knowledge of common Internet application development and production software as well as development standards and conventions
  • Exceptional verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Team oriented mentality

SharePoint Architect

Description

The SharePoint Architect will provide professional consulting services on major enterprise initiatives and mission critical Enterprise Data Management projects across the Microsoft platform utilizing Microsoft SharePoint Server 2007 (MOSS 2007), Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 (WSS 3.0), SharePoint Designer 2007 and various other .NET components. The SharePoint Architect will oversee and participate in the architectural design, development, customization and integration efforts of enterprise solutions involving Collaboration, Portals, Enterprise Search, Enterprise Content Management, Business Process and Forms, and Business Intelligence.

Qualifications

Minimum Required Experience and Education: SharePoint Architects must possess a minimum of 3 + years in Microsoft.NET development with SharePoint technical lead and architecture experience. Must possess knowledge of business workflows and have an understanding of the capabilities of Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007, Windows SharePoint Services 3.0, and SharePoint Designer 2007. In depth experience with Collaboration, Portals, Enterprise Search, Enterprise Content Management, Business Process and Forms, and/or Business Intelligence is required. Experience with Microsoft Forefront Security for SharePoint and application security centered around the SharePoint document library is highly preferred. Ability to evaluate, select and articulate product strategies between MOSS 2007, WSS 3.0 and Microsoft Office Forms Server 2007. Experience with Microsoft Office InfoPath Forms Services is highly preferred, as is experience with SharePoint Templates (Application Templates, Master Pages, Role-Based Templates, and the Community Kit for SharePoint).

SharePoint knowledge should include architectural design, Web Parts development, server installation, management and troubleshooting with a focus on planning, deploying and supporting enterprise SharePoint implementations. Development experience with Microsoft.NET technologies is also required (e.g. ASP.NET 2.0/3.0, C#, XML, IIS, BizTalk Server, SQL Server, etc.). Knowledge of the .NET Framework and experience working in the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) is also highly preferred. An understanding of RUP implementation diagrams and UML is also a major plus. Prior consulting experience is also desired.

Position requires excellent verbal and written communication skills, between both the customer and all levels within the organization are required. Knowledge of sound business practices and a proven track record of exceeding customer expectations and anticipating their needs are also required. Must be motivated with a focus on team performance.

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and delivering mission critical business applications for enterprise clients using Microsoft .NET technologies. This role has responsibility for understanding client business and technical requirements and then delivering appropriate end-to-end solutions consisting of component-based, services-oriented applications developed using the .NET Framework and complementary Microsoft technologies.

This is a multi-disciplinary role which requires strong software development knowledge and subject matter expertise with topics such as object-oriented design and enterprise integration, relational database design, application architecture, security design and software development methodologies and processes.

The successful candidate will have 5+ years of software development experience and 2+ years of experience analyzing, designing and developing large-scale object-oriented applications. The successful candidate will have been working with Microsoft .NET technologies for 2 to 3 years at a minimum.

Responsibilities
